United will not be at full strength folowing Ronaldo's exploits with Portugal, and Wayne Rooney misses out with an illness caught during a tour of Africa. Their 1-O win over Cardiff City back in May was Pompey's first piece of silverwre since they won the Championship in 1950, a year after their last appearance in this game. That success also meant Harry Redknapp's team have a European campaign to look forward to this year, while they will aim to be more consistent in the Premiership following a disappointing end to last season.
