This is a tougher game to call than it looks. Neither side is firing at the moment, with Arsenal scoring just once in their last three games and, apart from a midweek UEFA Cup thrashing of NAC Breda, Newcastle are relying on Alan Shearer to score goals domestically. I quite fancy a bet on under 2.5 goals being scored in this match as it is a big price considering the last two fixtures have produced just two goals (1-1 draw last February) and one goal (1-0 Arsenal win in November 2002) respectively. Arsenal may not have been scoring goals but their defence will be shored up with the return of Sol Campbell and Newcastle will have to be alert to deal with the obvious threat of Thierry Henry. Arsenal will probably win the game but their odds do not correspond with their form but a 2-0 win or a hard-fought 1-1 draw will do nicely as far as we are concerned. |
