It’s been a great start to life in the Premier League for both of these teams. Blackpool have won at Wigan and taken a point against Fulham, while the Magpies beat Aston Villa and drew at Wolves. The way in which they tore apart the Villans by a 6-0 scoreline three weeks ago means that they have to be taken to win this match, especially with striker Andy Carroll in such excellent form. He should get plenty of service from Kevin Nolan and Joey Barton, with Newcastle having now gone unbeaten at St James’ Park for over a season.

Blackpool have been a breath of fresh air and did manage that 4-0 opening day win at the DW Stadium. However, their following two matches have seen them concede a total of eight goals and their maverick style of football could prove to be their undoing away from home. DJ Campbell has signed for the club permanently, although the Tangerines might not create too many chances against a side which have built up lots of momentum after losing their first match of the season at Old Trafford.
